Every Member of Skyline High School Mock Trial Team Qualifies for State Tournament

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on 28 March, 2019

Skyline High School Mock Trial Team Captains Emma Lapinsky, Aleena Haris, and Jenna Jeffries began the school year with one goal in mind...everybody qualifies for the State Tournament. Their recruitment, drive, and relentless team building efforts since October have produced that exact result. Skyline will be represented by both of its teams at the prestigious YMCA Mock Trial State Competition in Olympia, WA at the end of March.

Skyline teams finished first and second at the inaugural Eastside Mock Trial Tournament held recently at the Northeast District Court in Redmond. The depth of the Skyline program was evident when Judge Peter Nault announced that several Spartans earned “Best Witness” and “Best Attorney” votes from judges. Freshman Olivia Lapinsky however was singled out overall to receive the competition’s “Best Attorney” Award.

The Skyline Mock Trial Program wishes to thank community Attorneys Dawn Bettinger and Chris Burton for their invaluable help this year.
