Hank Klein

Posted by User Not Found on 4 May, 2016

Congratulations to Challenger Elementary School Librarian and Music Teacher Hank Klein for being named one of the 2016 King County Earth Heroes for Waste Reduction and Recycling. Along with his teaching duties, Hank is also the Challenger Green Team leader. Throughout the year, Hank initiated the use of reusable utensils and dishware in the cafeteria and the composting of paper towels throughout the school. These programs have proven to be cost saving initiatives and have made Challenger a greener place. Thanks to Hank’s efforts, the school earned their Level 2 Green School status in the King County Green Schools Program.

As part of the King County Earth Heroes program, school Green Teams are inspiring to others to create their own projects that conserve resources, protect the environment, and educate about simple, everyday actions that can contribute to a healthier planet.
