Highly Capable Program- Parent Engagement Group (HCP-PEG)

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on October 23, 2019

Are you interested in supporting students and families who are in the Highly Capable Program in the Issaquah School District (ISD)? Applications are now being accepted for parent representatives to fill two empty spots on the parent engagement group:

  • SAGE – grades 3 through 5
  • Secondary HCP Middle School – grades 6 through 8

The purpose of the parent engagement group is to enrich the lives of the students and families who receive Highly Capable services. The group provides guidance, makes recommendations and serves as a sounding board for the director on topics such as communication with families who have students in the Highly Capable Program and ideas for community events, parent education, and newsletter topics!

The group is comprised of one PEP parent, two SAGE parents, two MERLIN parents, one HCP middle school parent, and one HCP high school parent. Participant terms are two years. Meetings are held approximately three times per year.

If you currently have a student in the SAGE program or in middle school, you are eligible to apply for the appropriate open position. The application is available by clicking here. If interested please send your application to the address below by Friday, November 15th. Applicants for each position will be selected by lottery on Wednesday, November 20th. You will be notified by email of your application status on Thursday, November 22nd.
