Swedish Hospital Issaquah Receives WASA Community Leadership Award

Posted by Elizabeth Egan on May 18, 2018

The Issaquah School District wishes to recognize Swedish Hospital Issaquah for their vital partnership providing mental health counseling services to our high school students and supporting our Academy for Community Transition (ACT) students with disabilities. The social-emotional health and safety of our students is a top priority in the Issaquah School District. Having mental counselors in our schools increases access to mental health services. For the past three years, Swedish counselors have provided confidential counseling and skill building, working with students through depression, anxiety, relationship problems, family concerns, grief and loss. Swedish Hospital Issaquah also supports our ACT program students by offering internships, work training, and advocacy at the hospital on behalf of the program. Our students and staff have been impressed and benefited greatly from the highly professional and caring support from everyone we work with at Swedish Hospital Issaquah.
