*Applications are also available at your student's neighborhood school.

To meet the program goal of half English speakers and half native Spanish speakers, and to sustain the cohort through the elementary level supporting the viability of potentially continuing the program at the secondary level, Issaquah School District’s selection process for the dual language program is as follows:

  • A dual language application must be completed and submitted to the District Office by March 15, 2019 at 4:30pm. The applying student must be designated as a Spanish, Bilingual Spanish-English, or English speaking student for the application to be considered complete. Submitting a dual language application does not guarantee a space in the dual language program. Applications are available online and at each elementary school office. Forms received after the deadline of March 15, 2019 will be dated in the order received, and students will be placed on a wait list in sequential order.

Lottery

A lottery process will be used to obtain the goal of selecting 12 native Spanish speaking students and 12 English speaking students for participation in the programs at both Clark and Issaquah Valley Elementary Schools. Overall enrollment at either school may require adjusting the ratio.

  • Slots for participation in the program will first be given to incoming kindergarten Clark and Issaquah Valley students for their respective schools.
  • If spaces are not filled by students in the Clark or Issaquah Valley attendance areas,
the next priority in the lottery process will be given to incoming kindergarten students attending schools in the Issaquah Middle School feeder pattern in order to maintain program viability at the secondary level. Parents are responsible for transportation.
  • If spaces remain unfilled, incoming kindergarten students in all other district feeder pattern areas will be eligible. Parents are responsible for transportation.
  • Students not placed in the lottery will be placed on a wait list in order of their name being drawn.
