Liberty High School Grandstand Project

The Liberty High School Grandstand project will include new covered home-side bleachers with press-boxes on west side of field to seat 2000.

The 2012 Bond included construction of new covered home-side bleachers with press-boxes on west side of the football field to seat 2000 Liberty High School Patriot fans. The existing football bleachers will be converted to visitors seating. Existing field lighting was replaced with new LED lights.

January 2017

Stadium

  • Capital Projects has received all close out documents from the contractor and consultants as requested by King County building officials and were submitted for final review.

Track Resurfacing

  • Contractor has completed all punch list items. Project has been approved by the Capital Projects Department.

Softball Improvements

  • Fence posts and curbs are installed.
  • The pre-fabricated dugouts are installed.
  • Artificial turf to be installed the week of January 9th.
  • Concrete curb for the batting cage has been poured.

November/December 2016

Stadium

  • Capital Projects has received all close out documents from the contractor as requested by King County building officials. Will be submitting final documents to King County the week of December 19th.

 Track Resurfacing

  • Contractor has completed all punch list items. They have submitted record drawings for final review to DA Hogan.

Softball Improvements

  • Fence posts and curbs have been installed.
  • The pre-fabricated dugouts are on site

October 2016

Stadium

  • Gutters and downspouts have been installed.
  • Bassetti Architects are finalizing the contract drawings for the scoreboard.

Track Resurfacing

  • Punch list is completed.
  • District has received O&M manual. As-builts should be available in about a week.

Softball Improvements

  • Grading work is approx. 60 percent completed.
  • Sub drainage has been installed.
  • Fence posts are scheduled to go in the week of October 25th.

September 2016

  • The project received final approval from King County in August.
  • Staff received training on the use of audio systems.
  • Many modifications were made to the existing grand stands to better accommodate access and improve appearance of the stadium overall.
  • The track resurfacing project is complete.
  • First game using the new grand stands took place last Friday, 9/9.

August 2016

  • Occupancy permit for the grandstands anticipated 8/26.
  • The old rubber track surface has been removed.
  • Existing asphalt surface has been cleaned and repaired.
  • New rubberized pad is installed.
  • Color finish coat is complete. Striping scheduled to be complete 8/29.
  • New javelin pad has been corrected.

  • Stadium roof repair materials have arrived from manufacturer.
  • Electrical work is proceeding.
  • Concrete sidewalk/closure to track is complete.
  • Fencing is being bid.
  • Shot put, javelin and discuss facilities are nearly complete.
  • DA Hogan will provide preliminary drawings for the stadium track resurfacing in about two weeks for review.

February 2016

  • Construction of the Grandstands is 95% complete.
  • Electrical will begin by mid-February.
  • Concrete closure strip will be completed by mid-February.

January 2016

  • Installation of new home-side Grandstands is progressing.
  • Press boxes arrived on January 11th and will be installed, followed by the roof framing and roof sheeting.
  • Preparation to pour the concrete walkway between the track and Grandstands is underway.
  • Goal is to complete Grandstands for use by March 1st.

December 2015

  • Installation of new home-side Grandstands is progressing.
  • Press boxes anticipated to arrive before Christmas and will be installed in early January followed, by installation of roof structure, electrical and audio.
  • Goal is to complete Grandstands for use by March 1, 2016.

October 2015

  • Utility trenches, electrical conduits, water main extension for domestic and fire protection, and sewer extension have been completed.
  • The foundation system and retaining walls were completed and backfilled in time for the Grandstand to be delivered and erected.
  • New LED field lighting has been installed.
  • Press boxes are being constructed and will arrive in November prior to the roof being installed.
  • The Grandstands are expected to be completed in time for the spring sports season.
  • Plans are underway for the support buildings and surrounding improvements.

September 2015

  • King County issued the building permit to install the Grandstands on June 12th and site work began immediately to construct the infrastructure for the new home side grandstands, while Outdoor Aluminum Company, providing the aluminum and steel structure, commenced working on the structure.
  • Utility trenches, electrical conduits, water main extension for domestic and fire protection, and sewer extension have all been underway and are approximately 75 percent completed.
  • Mass excavation for the foundation system complete and footings are being formed; concrete is expected in the next two weeks.
  • Steel is expected to arrive by the end of August and erection of the pieces will commence immediately.
  • New LED field lighting has been installed concurrent with the Grandstand project and will be functioning by the end of August.
  • A Temporary Occupancy Permit for the Grandstands is anticipated by November 1, 2015.
  • Temporary bleachers will be installed for visitor seating to allow home games to be played on the new field.

  • The softball field turf infield documents are in final review and will be bid shortly. King County is processing necessary permits.

December 2014

  • Major Site Development Permitting process underway.
  • Grandstand bid package has been advertised. Bids are due early January 2015.
  • Bid packages for site work, lighting upgrade and support building are underway. These packages will be coordinated with the Grandstand low bid proposal and then go out to bid in January 2015.

Aug-Oct 2014

  • Major Site Development Permitting process underway.
  • Bid packages are underway for fall bids.
  • In accordance with Liberty High School preferences, construction work will start following the completion of fall sports and football games.
