PCMS Student Places in Top 10 at State Geography Bee Competition

On Friday, March 31 Daniel McCrorey (PCMS 6th grader) represented Pacific Cascade Middle School and the Issaquah School District in the Washington State Geography Bee. Confidently answering 7 of 8 questions correctly McCrorey secured himself a spot in the top 10 at the championship. Congratulations Daniel!
The National Geography Bee, sponsored by the National Geographic Soceity, is a national program that thousands of schools participate in each year. Students complete regionally to qualify for the state round and national round, which take place during the spring. The contest was designed to spark student interest in the subject as well as increase awareness about geography. Students may enter the competition starting in 4th grade and are eligible until 8th grade.
