Issaquah, Liberty, and Skyline DECA Chapters Take Top Honors at State Competition

Over the weekend of March 2-4 Issaquah, Liberty, and Skyline High Schools each sent their respective DECA chapters to the State Career Development Conference in Bellevue, WA. All chapters had an incredible finish, which is detailed by school below. Congratulations to all the participants, and keep up the good work! We can’t wait to see how everyone does at the International Career Development Conference in April!

Issaquah High School

Over 70 students competed for Issaquah High School in a variety of business events. The chapter had great success with finalists in 27 events, and 21 students qualified for the International Career Development Conference, with one student qualifying in two events! Highlights include:
 

  • Daley Potter – 1st in State in Business Service Marketing Series
  • Altai Yildirim – 3rd in Start Up Business Plan and, 5th in Human Resource Management Series 
  • Morgan Hughes & Katie Zue – 3rd in Marketing Management Team Decision Making
  • Sharan Jhangiani – 3rd in Accounting Applications
  • Karen Juhn – 3rd in Principles of Business Management and Administration
  • Nicole Kay & Samantha Sato – 4th in Travel & Tourism Team Decision Making
  • Muskaan Agarwal, Isabel Hsien, & Ananya Sahoo – 4th in Finance Operations Research
  • Peter Orfanos & Daniel Eskenazi – 4th in Buying and Merchandising Operations Research 
  • Rohan Vaidya – 4th in Restaurant and Food Service Management
  • Abigail Paxton & Kyle Millis – 5th in Hospitality and Tourism Operations Research
  • Aashika Jhawar – 5th in Restaurant and Food Service Management
  • Jake Behn & Kunaal Sikka – 5th in Finance Operations Research
  • Kylie Fischer & Kayley Willbrandt – 6th in Buying and Merchandising Operations Research

Liberty High School

This year’s state numbers for Liberty DECA were the largest in the chapter’s history with almost 90 state qualifiers. Liberty excelled with 41 state finalists, 3 state champions, and 26 national qualifiers who will be competing in Anaheim, California this April. This year’s 26 national qualifiers beat last year’s record of 22, and continual growth is expected as Liberty High School DECA continues to shine at the highest level of competition. 

Skyline High School 

Congratulations Skyline DECA on a record breaking 73 National Qualifiers, 8 State Champions, 24 Medalists and the 4th consecutive Largest Chapter Award!
