Issaquah School Board Asks Legislators to Extend School Levy Lid through 2018

Posted by User Not Found on March 24, 2016

Citing the potential loss of $14M over the next two years to the Issaquah School District, the Issaquah School Board has asked the legislature to support a one year extension of the school levy lid through 2018 in an open letter to Washington State Senator Andy Hill, Senate Ways and Means Chair.

Without stable funding, school districts have an enormous difficulty in developing their budgets to pay for programs and teacher salaries. The extension of current funding levels would allow Issaquah and all school districts to plan their budgets until the legislature resolves the McCleary decision to fully fund public education.

A copy of the letter is available on the Issaquah School District Website.
