  • The punch list back-check has been performed by the architect and his consultants. Minor repairs are required for completion. Commissioning is near completion.

October 2016

  • The punch list repairs are proceeding at a steady rate and as the building is “experienced” a few more adjustments may be required. Some due to the building schedule being very compact and some due to the flexible nature of the curriculum.

September 2016

  • Gibson is occupied with a temporary occupancy allowing 30 days to readjust an existing ramp from the second floor west exit. This will be completed within the next two weeks.

August 2016

  • Small items are being completed and we are waiting for occupancy.
  • Upper floor classrooms are ready for use.
  • Carpeting of new office spaces is complete.
  • Wall covering installation is mostly complete.
  • FRP wall covering in the kitchen/servery is installed.
  • Kitchen equipment has been installed. Some work to complete connections remains to be completed.
  • Finish work is underway in Maker Spaces and the Commons.
  • Finish grinding of the exposed concrete floor is underway.
  • Work continues on support systems to allow final inspections for Temporary Certificate of Occupancy.
  • Furniture delivery is about 50% complete.

June 2016

  • The City has issued the building permit.
  • The new office area is framed and much of the power, plumbing and HVAC is installed.
  • The footings have been poured for the exterior walls, the steel columns and the brace frames. The commons floor slab is poured and was protected so lifts could be used on it without damage.
  • Steel columns, brace frames, and glu-lam beams have been erected. Roof metal decking is 95% complete.
  • Exterior wall framing is approximately 50% complete.
  • The grease interceptor and the underground utilities have been installed.

May 2016

  • The City has issued the building permit.
  • Demolition of the concrete courtyard, required retaining walls, and sidewalk is complete. The main gas line has been rerouted from underground to overhead. The fire department has allowed us to leave the fire sprinkler main under the new commons foundation and slab until the school year ends so we do not have to disrupt the water service or fire protection. Most exterior underground storm and sewer utilities have been installed. The underground interior utilities for the kitchen are complete allowing for alignment of the grease interceptor.
  • The commons footings and stem-walls have been poured, brace-frame and column footing are complete and waiting for structural steel. The concrete nose for the commons stage has been poured so when it is time to pour the majority of the slab, it can be poured at one time. The concrete slab will be poured the week of May 23rd if weather allows. The steel decking and glue-lams for the roof have arrived and the steel columns will arrive next week. Erection of the columns, glue-lams and steel decking will start the first week of June.
  • The demolition of the existing interior space where the new office will be is complete. Underground utilities have been installed for the health toilet room and a majority of the office space is framed.

April 2016

  • City building permit process is nearly completed. We were provided a demolition permit and granted permission to perform storm, sewer, and gas utility work. Contractors have mobilized and protective fences have been installed.
  • Demolition started Spring Break. The courtyard concrete and portions of retainage walls required for the addition have been removed. Many of the underground utilities have been located and exposed. The interior of the building that will become the main office is 80% demolished.

March 2016

  • City building permit process underway.
  • Construction planned to begin the start of Spring Break.
  • GC/CM costing is nearly complete.

February 2016

  • Currently in design/development and contract documents stage.
  • Pre-application meeting held at City. Permit process determined for project.
  • Building permit package submitted for review and approval.
